It is not only Thai people who make surprising business decisions. Foreigners too.
The Strip Go-Go bar (Patpong) was closed a few months ago and sold to Spanky’s Go-Go bar’s owners. Probably because the business was not good. Probably because of the location and the business model, a mix of private shows and exotic shows + the regular Go-Go bar activity.
Spanky’s used the place to open Spanky’s 3, and we were all wondering where Spanky’s 2 could be. Before we had time to find out, Spanky’s 3 had closed. Probably because the business was not good. Probably because of the location and the business model which was, well, another Go-Go bar, but on Patpong soi 2.
Since end of December 2010 the bar as re-opened with its previous name and, based on its website, its previous management, and its called The Strip again. The location is of course the same, on Patpong soi 2, and the business model is announced to be the same: snake shows, beach parties, fireworks and more.
What make them feel like this time it’s going to be a success? No idea.
Anyway, for now, on a week day, the bar was rather empty, as many bars on Patpong except the King’s group bars.
They still have 3 private booths for a private dance with one of their girls. Few girls for now, maybe 8-10 rotating in 2 shifts. The small bottle of beer costs 120 baht, the Lady Drink 150, the BF 600, and a girl I was chatting with offered me to come short time with me.
