Guest Friendly Hotel – Dusit Thani Bangkok hotel, Silom

“For 40 years, the famed Dusit Thani Bangkok Hotel has been a ’social and business’ landmark in Bangkok. Its international luxury hotel standards delivered with distinctive Thai artistry and graciousness personify the earthly manifestation of its name which means in Thai, a town in heaven.

“Ideally located in the heart of Bangkok, known as the ‘City of Angels’, it sits opposite Lumpini Park with its broad boulevards and expanse of lakes. The luxury hotel is adjacent to both the sky train and subway systems within easy proximity to major business, shopping and entertainment centres.”

That is what the brochure says, and it is not far from the truth. Dusit Thani is a landmark in Bangkok. It’s a great hotel. The location is convenient at the intersection between Silom Road and Rama 4 Road. Both Patpong and the gay entertainment area of Silom Soi 4 are within walking distance. There is also a BTS and a MRT station nearby.

On top of that, the Dusit Thani is guest friendly! I’m not sure this is the place I would chose to bring an extensive number of young and shortly dressed chicks, but if this is where my company sent me, I would be happy to know that I can indeed bring women to my room.

The Dusit Thani isn’t cheap. The cheapest room comes at 5,900 Baht and doesn’t include breakfast. But it does include free internet in the room, which is rather surprising for an hotel of this quality.

A nice room, plenty of women in walking distance, an internet connection to check your favorite website like Sukhumvit Psycho… what more do you need? A bar? You lucky bastard! My Bar at Dusit Thani is one of the trendiest places in town! Like the hotel it is definitely not the cheapest though, and it’s not a freelancer pickup joint either. But hey this is the ‘City of Angels’, not ‘Paradise on Earth.’

If you book a stay at this hotel online you can save thousands of Baht per night!
